Happy belated Easter

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  Hubby and I went for a little mini vacation this weekend.  Left on Friday morning and drove up to one of our favorite places.  Fairmont Hotsprings Resort and spent a couple of days there relaxing and spending some time reconnecting.  We find with the business and our busy lives we have to take a little time for just "us"  No Mom, No Lulu, No Company phones and just be together.  Which was what we did....we relaxed....we ate....we soaked.  The only time we were dressed was when we left our room.  It was VERY nice!  Then On Sunday morning we headed home all refreshed and rejuvenated.  Mom was at my brother's house for Easter Dinner, so we stopped by there on our way home and brought her home.  She was a doll and had made a ham with all the fixings before she went over there, so that hubby and I had an Easter meal for when we got home.  Even though we told her not to she did anyway....and in the end it was greatly appreciated.  It was delicious!

I didn't post last week, because I didn't do any stitching last Sunday.  We were out and about all day last Sunday and by the evening we just sat and watched tv and spent time together, so I didn't pick up my stitching at all.

I did manage to stitch a little bit on Sunday night.  I just took a picture of the new part as I am quite frankly too lazy to take them out of the q snaps at the moment to take a picture.  But you can see my Sunday progress nonetheless.

Also a shot of an old WIP that I haven't touched in months and months, is Mirabilia's Elizabeth.  She is still a long ways from looking like anything, but hopefully soon she'll be somewhat recognizable.

I think that I'm going to have to find a little ornament or something to stitch on this week.  I'm feeling that I'm needing a little instant gratification.  I have a few pieces on my desk that I have to kit up and get to it.

Have a great week everyone!

Another IHSW and Travelling chart

So where to begin?  I haven't posted in a month??  Really?  Wow it doesn't seem that long. Time is flying by fast..it's almost the end of March!  But let me assure you, it still feels like November with this winter that is never going to end!  Geesh!  We had some nice Spring-ish weather last week enough to fool the tulips into peeking out of the ground, and then boom back came winter with cold temperatures and snow.  Oh well, spring will come.  It always does.

So I start first with my Sunday SAL that I am doing with Kati.  Silver Linings Humboldt Coast.  It's coming along.  I am starting to see the light at the end of the more than 1 year tunnel on this one.  I love stitching on it though, and it's so satisfying to see it emerge into what it's turning into.  My mom has already laid claim on it.  So I'll be happy to frame this and give it to her.

Not much progress happening on Elizabeth.  I haven't found a lot of time to stitch this last week, or even month for that matter.  Everytime I sit to do some stitching, something always comes up that I have to pack it all away.  Or I manage a few stitches and then that's as far as I get.   This week doesn't look too promising either, but I'm going to try.

I am excited about this little project.  I won a chance to stitch this little piece as a travelling chart..Bent Creek - Glad Tidings. So again ladies, I will be gathering names to pick from to send it on it's next leg of it's journey.  Thank you Andrea for all the wonderful treasures that you sent along with the chart!  I spring colours of the floss are perfect....I am going to stitch this year's "bunny bums" with one of these colours for sure!!  Just which one.  None of this will go to waste, that's for sure...and are much appreciated.

So Ladies....leave a comment on this post and in the next couple of weeks I'll be drawing a name for the next destination.

IHSW update

So I did a little bit of stitching on the weekend, not as much as I had intended to do.  I actually had intended to do way more than I did over the Olympics but I really didn't.  Just got enthralled in the sports and didn't pay too much attention to what was in my lap....especially since I stitched for 2 1/2 hours on Elizabeth, only to realize I was stitching in the complete wrong area of the piece and it took a whole 10 minutes to frog it all out.  I was SOOO not happy, oh well...that's the way it goes sometimes.  10 minutes to 2.5 hr ratio makes one a little pissy!

So I sat and worked on Humboldt coast this weekend.  Not too much, I had planned on finishing this page that I am working on currently, but that didn't happen.  I ended up having some company, and had to put away the stitching.  By the time that they left I was tired and just sat and watched tv, plus hubby came home and had to tell me all about the fishing derby.

I did a little Valentine piece as well,  this is a part of a freebie that can be found here but I adapted it to Carol's piece that she did last year. I'll be making this into a little ornament.

Speaking of Valentines, I was spoiled by my love this year.  My balloon is still floating :)

And last but certainly NOT least is my baby Lulu!  It's been a while since I showed a picture of her...not for lack of trying, she turns her head everytime I point a camera in her direction.  Here she sits quite content being pampered by Grandma :)

Mira started!

Sunday stitching was fruitful.  I worked on Humboldt Coast my Sunday SAL with Kati, and got lots done.

I am really looking forward to two fishing derbies that are coming up at the end of this month and the beginning of next month.  Two weekends where hubby is going to be out of town and ice fishing for the two weekends in a row...which means uninterrupted stitching!  Can't wait!!!

It is yet a meager little start, but it's a start.  I don't know whether I want to stitch on this thru the Olympics, or should I start a new "olympic stitching" project.  Do any of you start a new project for the Olympics?  I am an Olympics junkie as some may call me, but when I mentioned that I have to pick an Olympic stitching project...that took them over the edge!  LOL  I guess only us stitchy people understand.  Anyway this is my start on Mirabilia's Elizabeth.  I'm stitching her on Silkweavers "floral bliss"after a few floss tosses I like how the colours popped on this the best.

A finish & some WIP's updates

It's Monday, and I'm so glad that it's over. I felt like I was power working today at work.. Head down and full steam ahead. Crazy, I tell ya, just crazy! Got lots done though.

I had a pretty good stitching week last week. I finished my ornament...I'm going to finish it as a cube I think. To large to be a pillow one for the tree, so I think I'll make it into a cube with a nice ribbony bow, and put it on one of the tables in the family room. (In case you didn't know I'm a christmas junkie!!! My house looks like Christmas central by the time I'm finished with it...two trees...one with the family ornies, the big shiny tree, and then I have a craft tree, with nothing on it but X-stitched ornaments!) You'll see when I post pics. I am already excited about Christmas. LOL

Design : Holly and Berries
Designer: Little House Needleworks
Stitched on 28 ct Cameo Lugana using recommende fibres

I was going to stitch this over 1, but once I put in the first few stitches on that it was a quick decision to give up on that! No thanks! As nice as it would have been, it's just as nice this way :)

I also worked on my Neighbourhood SAL and put a few stitches into ROS. She is going to be my focus piece for this week. No other stitching planned until Sunday. So hopefullyyyy.........

So that's it for today. I'm off to have a little something to eat, and then to settle in with some tv and ROS.

Crazy busy week/weekend

So much got done this past week, and weekend. Lots of work to be done at work, and got thru so much of it I think that I might actually be ahead! Of course, now that I say that and it's out in the universe, all hell will break loose and I'll be digging out of piles again by the end of the week. It's always nice when one of my Dr's goes on holidays and I don't have to shuffle thru paperwork from them for that week. LOL

Got lots of stitching done. Don't quite know how that happened because it didn't feel like I spent a lot of time stitching. But when I ended up scanning and looking at everything for the week, it seems like I made some progress.
So here they are...

The October square of my BC snapper year, ROS (I'm itching for a finish on this one), and my Sunday SAL with Kati Neighborhood! WOO HOO!!

I pulled the threads for LHN Holly & Berries last night which I'm going to stitch as my October ornament, I'm planning on doing this over 1, but we'll see once I get started. LOL

Late again

Well I always have good intentions to upload my WIP pics on time, but time always gets away from me. And this week the excitement of Las Vegas!

I didn't get a lot of time to stitch on my SAL LHN piece on Sunday, real life got in the way. But I did manage to finish the middle part of it. So now it's just deciding whether I'm going to do the top of the bottom of it. I'll flip a coin, but I'm leaning towards the top row. I won't be stitching this coming Sunday on it, so it will be the week after anyway, so I'll have time to decide.

And here's a pic of the WIP of ROS! I am starting to see a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel on this one. It didn't make Mother's day, or my Mom's birthday, but it will surely be done by christmas. I already have thoughts of my next focus piece going thru my mind. But haven't decided yet on that one either. Too many things I want to do...and always too many new ones that pop up that have to be done as well. EEEKKKK!!!!

I am patiently awaiting my pre-ordered JCS Ornie issue. But up in Canada I guess it takes a little longer. I am itching to flip thru it. ARGH!!!!!!!
