Some Stash has arrived!

Still waiting for 1 more package but here they are...now let's hope blogger will work

First is the lost stash that I forgot about. Kappie Designs Tall Sandwich, Sundae and Fruit Salad, as well as the big piece of jobelan.

Second is Dimensions - Chew Toy and Sunset - Calendar of Events. I got Chew Toy because the middle pup reminds me so much of my Missy girl and I've decided that when I stitch it, I'm only going to stitch the middle section with the chocolate pup for Missy. :) I miss her so much still!

Then lastly, The Stitching Studio's Mouth of the Flower and Family of Birds, I saw these and had to have them. So hopefully I'll have time to stitch them this year. Yeah, right! LOL

We watched Marley and Me last night! Oh my gosh!!! I cried and sobbed and had snot flying all over the place! I was a mess. I even woke up with such puffed eyes that I couldn't put on my mascara without smudging. So I ended up going without. Everyone that I talked to has cried during this movie, but I think that with me I was crying more for my loss of Missy, then Marley. Missy had the same problem in the end and it was devastating to me. Funny thing is I know that I'm ok with it, and am over the pain. But wow! That movie too me right back to that September 16th, 2007 My heart broke all over again. Hubby said that even cried in my sleep last night. When we finished watching it, he said we probably should have waited another 2 years still to watch it. LOL He's so cute!

I was so excited on Saturday! I have been in search of Lily of the Valley for a couple of years now and this last weekend at Costco I found some!!! A packet with 24 plants in them. So I am going to go out and start working on the soil this weekend, hopefully the snow will hold off until I'm able to do that and then I can get those in the ground and hopefully blooming! WOOOO HOOOOO!

She wouldn't let me go

I tried to move from ROS to my ornie this past weekend, but ROS wouldn't let me put her down, so because she was push I'll give her another week, and then pick up the ornie on Saturday. I've already got the fibres and fabric all pulled for the ornie, as well as the BC May chart. I just have to get to them and this weekend is when I'll do them (or at least start them)

So I started getting some of my deliveries! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Even ones that I forgot about, so it was a nice surprise when I opened that one. I was hoping to upload the pictures of my new stash, but blogger isn't being co-operative with me at the moment, so I'll try again tomorrow. Maybe the rest of my stash will show up by then. But my surprise order that I had forgotten about was Kappie Designs Tall Sandwich, Tall Sundae and Fruit Salad. As well as a piece of 36x55 28 Count Jobelan white fabric. I always have to have some of that one hand.

Busy week

It's been a few days since my last post, we've been busy on the homefront, with the play-off games, (Calgary's still in it..YEAH!) and then Mom had physio on Wednesday. Tuesday we were at the airport picking up our visitor from Hungary, he's a cutie, but wow! Can he talk!!!!! I'm thinking earplugs would not be a bad investment! LOL Just kidding, although he is enthusiatic! He's 18...I guess we all were at that age. He'll be with us for a few months while he discovers and explores what Canada has to offer.

I've got quite a bit done on ROS! I'm switching to my ornie on Saturday, so tomorrow night I'll hopefully have one more night of good stitching on her and then it's ornie weekend. Which is fitting seeing as it SNOWED this week! But hopefully it will melt and soak into the ground and leave the grass gorgeous green.

I am watching and waiting for my new stash! Next week will feel like Christmas with all the packages that I'm waiting for.

Good stitching weekend

After I did all my housework for the week, I was able to get lots of stitching done. Hockey playoff season has always been good to me for stitching time. I don't have to pay that much attention to the tv set, and I can look up when I hear people cheering during the game. So it's a great time to make major progress on any stitching project that I'm working on. I am very happy with the progress that I made on ROS. I managed to finish off a section that I wanted to finish this weekend, plus start on another section. So woo hoo to me!

I also got to do a lot of blog reading this weekend, and I have a wish list now that is certainly more than a mile long if printed out single spaced.

And I also asked and got accepted on a blog that I have been following for a couple of months. 2009 Christmas Challenge So I'm very excited about that and will be stitching my first ornie with them this coming weekend.

Have your tastes changed?

I know that when I first started stitching..many years ago.. I used to love stitching animals, any kind, any way, it was all about the animals. Then I moved on to flowers, and I have almost every single Silver Lining chart in my stash boxes. Until of course I stopped being obsessed by flowers. Then there were the ladies...mostly the Mirabilia queens (which I did stitch the 4 season queens, spring, summer, autumn, winter...all stitched, beaded and regal) but once I did those I kind of got tired of those as well. Now I don't know what I like, I absolutely hated the simple folksy kind of charts, now I find that I love them! And the quaker patterns, I'm starting to feel a pull towards those as well.

Designers that I use to favor have waned and faded too.

Now I'm not saying that I am giving up on the animals, and the flowers and the ladies, it's just that they aren't my taste of favorites anymore.

Pics so far

So I thought that I would post the pictures of the finishes that I've had this year. All of them ornaments so far but not yet finished into ornaments. I really love the box ornament finishes, so I am definitely going to have to find something that I can finish that way. Mostly I jjust finish them as pillow ornaments and they seem to do just fine on the tree. We'll see. I am think that this year instead of getting the tradition "live" christmas tree as my craft tree, I might actually get hubby to build me a tall spindle tree. Now I think that, that would be an awesome site!

Oh and of the shopping spree that I went on....here's the list. Eek!

Little House - Holly & Berries
Snowflakes
Winter wonderland
Home of a Needleworker Too
Always and Forever (After seeing Kati's I had to get it)
Stitching Studio - Mouth of the Flower
Family of birds
Sunset - Calendar of Events
Dimensions - Chew Toy

UGH! How am I going to stitch all of that?? LOL Oh well I will love fondling them at any rate.

My Mastercard is going to explode.

After 2 years of being good about not buying too much extra stash, especially charts! I have gone on a crazy rampage as of late. Last week I ordered and recieved a new Leisure Arts Christmas Ornament book. (My secret little passion is stitching Xmas ornies!) Which was ok because I know that I will stitch out of it. I have been good the last two years only ordering/buying things that I will stitch that year. Well apparently I am guessing that I am going to have plenttyyyyyy of time to stitch because yesterday and today I went on a shopping spree and ended up ordering 8 charts! Needless to say, I am going to have to stitch like the devil that was sitting on my shoulder the last couple of days to make true my bid not to spend more than I can use. Not that I don't have hundreds of chart already in bins in my stitching bins.

Oh well.

Tonight is the first night of the Calgary Flames playoff season, so I should have a good solid two hours of stitching at least.

wooo hooo!

Blogging again

Wow, this feels strange. Trying blogging again. For those of you who followed my other blog Blissful Loser, that blog is now gone. I have decided that there are more important things in life to focus on than just weight loss, although that is still important to me, I don't want it to be my only focus.

With this blog I want to focus on the things that I love. Stitching, family, friends. Sounds easy enough. Now let's see if I can do it.

I found this template and thought that it was pretty, I see so many pretty blog templates out there I think that's ultimately what made me want to blog again, to use a pretty background.

Ok so what am I stitching? I've actually started what I think is a rotation, something I thought that I would never do, because I was one of those start a project, finish a project kind of girl. But lately a big project seems to drag on for too long, so I need little side pieces that give a little bit of finishing satisfaction. Thus the rotation (as it were) I want to stitch an ornament a month for my craft tree, and then I am working on the Bent Creek Monthly snappers and working on that in one piece, but also working on the month, one month at a time. Then as the big project I am working on Rose of Sharon by Mirabilia. Intended to be a Mother's day gift for my Mom this year, but I don't think I'm going to make it. She already knows it's her's so I suppose it doesn't matter but it would be nice to get it done by then.

So there we have it, my first post. Hopefully this will be a blog filled with happiness and lovely pictures of finished pieces.

It's good to be back.
