We're back!

Oh it was wonderful!!!! I love camping! I never thought that I would, but I do, In fact, up until this year my idea of camping was getting a hotel room (a nice one mind you...not just any old hotel room would do) and taking little nature walks, or fishing by a lake and then going back to the hotel etc etc...you get my drift. But we got a trailer this year and I LOVEEEEEE it!!!!!! We were meant to actually leave on Monday or Tuesday of last week, but hubby had to work on Monday, so we decided that we would be leaving on Tuesday morning. Well as our luck always happens...not on purpose, but unlucky. Mom tripped and fell, landing on her hand and broke it! Yep. So we were at the doctor's and xrays and casting rooms on Tuesday. But all was well after the initial shock or it all and hubby and I managed to get all packed and leave on Wednesday. My brother and his wife were in and out of here checking on Mom so it was ok. We got back late Saturday, just so that we could start on the laundry and have a full day of normalcy before we headed back to work tomorrow ARGH!!! But I live for the fact that one week of work and then a long weekend...hehehehe! Not badly planned, if I do say so myself.

I got some stitching done while we were out there. Not much but I did manage to fit in a little bit. Spent a lot of time out on the boat instead, the weather was amazing, cooling down quite a bit at night, but still comfortable enough to enjoy the fire. So ROS for a little more of her gown on. I'm going to sit and work on my SAL tonight, and then hopefully get some updates for you tomorrow.

I decided to change the look of my blog again, as pretty as I thought the pink and black was, I wasn't all that crazy about it. So I'll live with this design called "Ice Princess" hmmmmm some would think that would befitting of me at times. LOL but I think it's pretty.

And with that I leave you with a lovely shot of the sky that was our backdrop on Wednesday night.

Updates

First let me start by WOW!!! Lion King....everything that I imagined that it was going to be went wayyyy beyond my expectations. It was FANTASTIC!! In fact, I cried during the opening act, it was so overwhelming and beautiful. I had high hopes for this performance and I was not disappointed!!! It was AMAZING!

I've managed to work a little on both of my WIP's First is my SAL with Kati, LHN Neighbourhood. It's coming along nicely. I wanted to get the red house finished, but I didn't manage it. Next week Sunday though, if all goes well.

And then finally with Rose of Sharon back in the qsnaps, I'm working on her as well. I'm actually enjoying working on her at the moment, so that makes it easier, I kind of got annoyed with her for a while (don't know why) but now we on good terms again and I'm happily stitching away at her. (Yep, I sound like a crazy person, don't I? I know!)

Jan, at Belfonte Notes is celebrating her first release of her newly ready "Rare Treasures" pictured below. And she is generously offering a free copy of the chart, please go by and say hi and enter to win on her giveaway. I would love to add this one to my collection.

So we're packing up the trailer, I've got my ROS all set to go, and we're off.
Pine Coulee....here we come!!!!!

SAL update

I think this is update 3. I didn't get much done on it, but I got some, I'm hoping that I will get the little house completed next sunday, but it's all going to depend on what the weekend brings. We've both taken time off work next week, so we are planning on going camping for a few days, we just don't know if we're leaving on Sunday or on Monday. This Saturday night we are going to the theatre to see The Lion King. We are both so excited! It's our B-day gifts to one another. Mine's on the 24th and hubby's is on the 25th...so we always do a joint gift, and this is what we decided on. I have been waiting for years for this production to come thru Calgary and now that it's finally here, I can't wait!!! wooo hoooo

So anyway....I have finally put Rose of Sharon back in the qsnaps, and I'm hoping to get a good chunk of her done in the next couple of weeks. She'll be coming with me when we go camping, and there's nothing but time out there.

August's ornie

I really love this book of ornaments that I got a couple of months ago, and have been stitching my ornies out of there. I kept flipping pages and kept coming back to this one. It's not fancy, it's not elaborate, but there is something about it that I just loved. So I stitched it. What is stitching if you don't stitch what you love, right? So I finished it yesterday and here it is.

Design: Santa Sign
Designer: Leisure Arts
Stitched on 28 ct white Jobelan

I'm going to do some stitching my Sunday SAL piece later tonight, we've got some things to do this afternoon that I'm not going to be able to stitch on it, but tonight in front of the tube I should be able to get a good chunk done.

Updates

Oh my gosh, it has been a week. I got sick on Wednesday, we are talking full blown, can't speak, can't swallow, can't sleep...sick! It was horrible. A little antibiotic, and some gargle later, I am feeling much better, but still have some sinus issues. Argh it was awful. I did get a little stitching done though...not much cause there were times my head hurt so bad that I couldn't see the eye of the needle let alone anything else. But I did get my August Snapper done (yeah) and I stitched a bit more on Sunday on the LHN SAL piece.

I pulled the floss for my August Xmas ornament last night, so I think that after dinner and a nice long shower I may settle in with that and throw in a dvd or watch tv or something.

Sounds like a plan.

New Sunday SAL 1

So Kati and I have begun a new Sunday SAL, since we finished the Home of a Needleworker. Kati is a week ahead of me, but I got some really good stitching time on Sunday so I think I made a nice dent for my 1st installment of LHN's - Neighbourhood. I have wanted to stitch this one since I first saw it, so I am excited to actually get to it. I'm stitching it on 28 ct. Platinum Lugana with the suggested dmc threads. But it's a lovely stitch so far. I absolutely love how the designer does these weeping willow trees.

I had to run to Michael's on Saturday to pick up a skein of floss or two and I ended up buying some new ribbons to add to my stash. The Christmas one's are coming out so I'm excited about that. to start working up some of tose ornaments that I have stitched already. I also ordered and recieved LHN's Sampler Girl (See already setting up for our next SAL! LOL)

I have fallen behind on my Snapper Year. I am only part way thru July's square and August is already upon us. We are changing servers at work and I had to pull 10 and 11 hour days all week last week, so I didn't get any time to stitch at all. I was happy to come home, shower off the day and flop into my chair. But hopefully now it seems theat the end is in sight for everything to be in place, and this is the first day in 10 days that I have left the office on time, so I'll be sitting myself down with my stitching in hand tonight and getting some more done on my July square and I think I'll just flow right into the august one. It would be a little hopeful to say that I would like to have both of them done this week. But I've set that goal. HA!
