Olympic stitching!

So much to share. First, happy belated Valentine's day.  My sweetie couldn't decide whether to get me roses or my favorite's Tulips, so I was spoiled and I got both.  I was craving a piece of sinful chocolate cake, so I got a slice of that too, with a cold glass of milk it was just what I needed.  :) yummmmm.  I've been good for 1 1/2 months so it was my splurge.  Which is all going to go down the toilet anyway, cause we're leaving for vacation to Mexico on Saturday, and I'm throwing the diet out the window.  LOL  So I'll work it off when we get home.  I can't believe that it's almost time to go.  It seemed like such a long time away when we booked it and now here it is upon us.  Not that I'm complaining.  I've already got my pre-vacation hate on at work...everything seems to be annoying me at the moment there.

Second, I have a happy dance.  I finished my Pear Tree LHN ornament.  Stitched it over 1, that's why it took so long.  Not sure why...there are the same amount of stitches, just tinier.  I haven't received my third one yet, cause I have some other stuff that is on order as well, so I told Amy to just hang on to it until it all comes in.  But I'm excited to get it and start it, along with my other stash.

Pear Tree - Little House Needleworks - 28 ct  Star Sapphire 1 over 1

Third, I started a new project.  Actually this has been in my stash for YEARSSSSSS!  And while I was watching the Opening Ceremonies of the olympics and I saw all the native symbols and how lovely they were. I dug out this piece.  It's called Hummingbird, by Island Art adapted from the First Nation Artist - Joe Wilson. It's a wonderful stitch.  I'm enjoying it immensely.

Fourth, I have taken a picture of my first installment of the TUSAL, It's not a great picture, but it'll do for now.  I'll take a better picture next month.  :)

So that's it.  I'm off to take a shower, and settle in and watch the men's hockey game!  Go Canada Go.

Wow--you hit the flower jackpot, Barbi--love them both!

Would you believe I haven't finished Fa La La, yet? I got distracted with other projects, but maybe this week I can get it done. Love your Pear Tree over one.

Have a wonderful, warm Mexican vacation!

Thanks for the comment on my blog! I think we are using the same jar- and have about the same amount of threads in it too! lol Your pear finish is beautiful- I think stitching over one takes a little longer just because it's harder to see and sometimes it's a little harder to get the needle through the small holes! The end result is always so pretty though, and dainty!

Pretty flowers! How nice to get both!

Lovely finish and WIP. Have a great time in Mexico. Remember one of the most important Mexican holiday Spanish phrases: "Dos cervezas por favor."

Just love your Pear Tree over one thread!!! Love those flowers and have a wonderful time on your vacation. You can get good seafood in Mexico and that's pretty healthy so may be you can splurge and not feel too guilty about it!
